- Continued run of success at the annual AM Awards for Kia
- Kia UK named AM’s ‘Manufacturer of the Year’
- ‘New EV of the Year’ and ‘New Car of the Year’ for the Kia EV3
Kia UK has collected three awards at the coveted AM Awards 2025, winning the overall prize of ‘Manufacturer of the Year’, while Kia’s latest electric offering, the EV3, was named both ‘New EV of the Year’ and ‘New Car of the Year’.
Kia has started 2025 in flying form currently ranking as the third best-selling brand in the UK year-to-date, with more than 43,000 new cars sold to customers within the first four months of the year.
The EV3, which commenced sales late in 2024, has leapt out of the blocks faster than any Kia EV to come before it, holding the title of Kia’s fastest selling EV of all time. The model, which is offered in a trio of well-equipped trim levels and a choice of two battery options – the largest of which offers a range of up to 375 miles on a single charge* – currently holds the position of the best-selling EV within the UK retail market so far in 2025.
Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia UK Limited, commented, “We are thrilled to receive such excellent recognition for our business and our product. The Manufacturer of the Year award is a perfect reflection of the way we run our business and celebrates the mutually beneficial partnership we have with our dealers. It also leads perfectly on to our awards for the new EV3, as it is our industry leading products which form the back bone of our continued success.
I would like to thank the AM judges, readers and dealer partners who voted for us, leading to another successful AM Awards for Kia UK.”
Automotive Management’s editor Tim Rose said: “Yet again, our dealer readers and the judging panel have recognised the positive impact that Kia has made in the UK’s motor retail industry. It has great relationships with its dealers, and it provides them with stylish and well-equipped cars that bring customers to their dealerships. This is its third win of the Manufacturer of the Year Award since the start of this decade, which is a testament to the huge respect earned by this brand and its leadership team.
“And for its latest electric car, the Kia EV3, to pick up both the New EV of the Year and the headline New Car of the Year awards, which are both voted for by our dealer readers, is another statement of how Kia is helping car buyers get into more affordable EVs without compromising on the technology.”
Kia is no stranger to success at the annual AM Awards. Last year, the brand collected a brace of awards including ‘EV of the Year’ for the EV3’s larger sibling, the EV9. In 2022 and 2023 Kia UK was named ‘Manufacturer of the Year’, making this the third time in four years in which Kia has won this particular award.
The double-award win for the EV3, combined with its recent ‘UK Car of the Year’ and ‘World Car of the Year’ titles are further evidence of how widely the model has impressed in its relatively short lifespan.
