• Alpine, celebrating its 70th anniversary, returns to the Goodwood Festival of Speed
  • Line-up includes Alpine A290 Rallye, an all-new, motorsport-modified version of the 2025 Car of the Year, which will make its world dynamic debut at the hillclimb
  • Alpenglow HY6 show car, A110 R Ultime and Alpine A390 will also make their UK dynamic debuts on the Goodwood course
  • Road-going A290 and A110 will also be showcased, while BWT Alpine Formula One team will deliver a daily high-octane display of the marque’s motorsport pedigree

Alpine will return to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a sensational line-up including the world dynamic debut of the Alpine A290 Rallye, plus UK dynamic debuts of the hydrogen-powered Alpenglow HY6 concept car, the phenomenal A110 R Ultime and the soon-to-launch A390 fastback.

The event will form part of the renowned French sports car maker’s 70th anniversary celebrations. Also set to wow Goodwood visitors from July 10-13 are the BWT Alpine Formula One team, which will run up the hill each day, plus the all-electric A290, which scooped the European Car of the Year 2025 title earlier this year, and the much-awarded A110, which is set to enjoy a final hurrah before going out of production next year.

Taking centre stage as it makes its dynamic debut will be the Alpine A290 Rallye, a competition-modified version of the 2025 Car of the Year. Featuring a full safety cage and a raft of competition-bred enhancements, including a ZF limited slip differential, plus upgraded suspension, brakes and running gear, the car is making its dynamic debut on the Goodwood hill.

It was first unveiled in the service area at the Rallye du Rouergue just last week, having been dressed in a sporting livery by the Alpine design team, with the car’s white wheels and dynamic colour scheme conceived to convey the car’s competition intent by racing design chief Raphael Linari. “This is an Alpine A290 in sporting clothes,” said Linari. “The look has been designed to convey lightness, simplicity and efficiency.”

Also taking to the legendary hillclimb course for the first time is the advanced, hydrogen-powered Alpenglow HY6 show car, first seen at the 2024 Paris Motor Show.  Alpenglow, powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 740bhp, points to an exhilarating future for the brand in motorsport. It combines environmental innovation with sportiness to showcase a new way of reducing a sports car’s carbon footprint, while its design incorporates elements pointing towards the look of future Alpine models.

The A110 R Ultime will also run on track at the iconic event. Engineered to be the finest expression of the A110, with 345bhp, 420 NM of torque and a 0-100kph time of 3.8sec, it is estimated to be 20 seconds faster around the legendary Nordschleife in Germany than the A110 R.

Meanwhile, the new A390 is also set to be one of the stars of the show. The 100% electric, five-seat sport fastback has been engineered to deliver the agility and driving pleasure of Alpine’s legendary A110. It will be joined by Alpine’s current road car line up, the all-electric A290 and much-admired A110, both of which offer the high-performance and handling agility that typify Alpine’s motorsport heritage.

Nic Burnside, MD of Alpine Cars UK, said: “With motorsport in Alpine’s DNA, we are going the extra mile to bring an amazing and headline-grabbing line-up of cars to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. In the UK, Goodwood will be the highlight of our 70th anniversary celebrations, and we are determined to put on a memorable show for all the fans visiting this iconic venue.”

Alpine cars will run in the First Glance, New Classics and Supercar demonstration batches throughout the Festival of Speed weekend, with the A110 R Ultime additionally running in the timed shootout.
